Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
This policy applies to "consumer health data" about people in Washington, Nevada and Connecticut, and to data collected in those states. It explains what consumer health data MyPetCerts, Inc. collects, why, who we share it with, and how to use your rights. Our Privacy Policy covers everything else.
Consumer health data we collect, and why
| Category | Examples | How we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Mental and emotional health information | Your answers to the pre-qualification quiz and the ESA evaluation; the condition you're evaluated for; symptoms and history you describe | So a licensed mental health professional can evaluate you and decide whether to issue a letter |
| Health care services you seek or receive | That you requested or hold an ESA evaluation, letter or certificate; its dates, type and status; the professional who evaluated you | To provide, renew and verify your letter; support, refunds and disputes; required record-keeping |
| Inferences | Whether your pre-qualification answers suggest you may qualify | To show you your pre-qualification result and next steps |
| Messages about your health | What you tell us by chat, email or phone about your condition or evaluation | To answer you and support your evaluation |
| Purchases that may reveal health services | That you started checkout for, or bought, an evaluation, letter or renewal, and the order value | To process and fulfil your order, and, when advertising cookies are on, ad measurement (see "Who we share it with") |
We don't collect biometric or genetic data, precise location, or data about reproductive or sexual health services. We don't use location to build "geofences" around health care facilities.
Where it comes from
- You, through our forms, chat, email and phone line.
- The licensed mental health professional who evaluates you.
- A partner organization that set up your account, if that's how you came to us.
When we collect and share it
We collect and share consumer health data to the extent needed to provide the pre-qualification result, evaluation and letter you ask for, or with your consent. You choose to give it by taking the quiz or the evaluation, and you confirm your consent to our Telehealth terms before you submit an evaluation.
We do not sell consumer health data. We never use your quiz or evaluation answers for advertising. No analytics or advertising tags run on the evaluation pages, and nothing from them is sent to Google, Meta or Microsoft. On the free pre-qualification pages, only Google Analytics runs. It records page views and how the page is used (such as scrolling, link clicks and that the quiz was submitted), never your answers, condition, result or email. Google signals and ad personalization are off there, so it isn't used to personalize ads or build ad audiences.
Purchase information and advertising: while advertising cookies are on, Google, Meta and Microsoft learn that you started checkout or bought one of our products, and the order value. They're on by default unless you or your browser's Global Privacy Control turn them off. Because our products are ESA evaluations and letters, that can suggest you sought an emotional support animal evaluation. To stop it, turn off Advertising in "Your Privacy Choices" at the bottom of any page, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.
You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing [email protected]. Withdrawing stops future collection and sharing, but it means we can't continue an evaluation.
Who we share it with
| Recipient | Consumer health data shared | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The licensed mental health professional assigned to you (an independent practitioner) | All categories above | To evaluate you and issue your letter |
| A partner organization, only if your account was created through it | Your account, evaluation and letter information | To coordinate your service |
| Anyone you give your MPC ID to (online, they also need your last name) | Whether a letter with that ID is current, its dates and type, and your professional's name and license, as described in Privacy Policy section 5. Never your name, pet or health. | Letter verification, at your direction |
| Google (Ads and Analytics), Meta (Facebook) and Microsoft (Bing) | That you started checkout or bought one of our products, and the order value, while advertising cookies are on | Ad measurement and targeting |
| Processors that run our systems: Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, files, email), Cloudflare (network security), Stripe (payments), Google Workspace (email), Tawk.to (live chat), Twilio (phone), Slack (internal alerts) | Whatever passes through the service they provide | Only to provide that service to us, under contract |
| Government or law enforcement | Only what the law requires | Valid legal process |
MyPetCerts has no affiliates that receive consumer health data.
Your rights
- Confirm and access: ask whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, get a copy, and get a list of every third party and affiliate we've shared it with, with their contact details.
- Withdraw consent to collection and sharing.
- Delete: we'll delete your consumer health data from our systems, and tell the processors and third parties we shared it with to delete it too. Archived or backup copies are deleted within six months. Some records must be kept by law, and we'll tell you if that applies.
- Appeal if we refuse a request: reply to our decision, or email us with "Appeal" in the subject. If we deny the appeal, you can complain to your state attorney general (Washington: atg.wa.gov/file-complaint).
To use these rights, email [email protected] or call 1-650-560-4372. We verify requests by matching details we already hold. We respond within 45 days, and tell you if we need up to 45 more. Using your rights costs nothing and won't change your service.
